2025 21th IIP International Inventor Prize Selection Method
IIP The International Inventor Prize extends its invitation and cordially welcomes all inventor groups from around the world, as well as outstanding individual inventors to join together with representatives from industry and academia to participate in this greatly significant international innovation and invention conference. Let’s collectively promote the advancement of flourishing and united efforts in global innovation and invention work, and look forward to the IIP becoming the highest honorary symbol of global innovation and invention.
Award Categories
◎ A. International Invention Hall of Fame
Application Criteria:
1. Open to those who have exhibited outstanding performance and are prior recipients of CIIS inventor prizes or other medals from international invention exhibitions.
2. The applicant’s total score on the evaluation scale is 3,000 points or above, excluding points from Section A’s “publications” and “academic history” categories and all points from Section B. Additionally, points earned from Section A’s “competitions” categories must account for at least one-fifth of the total score.
3. A special judging committee ( 3-5 members ) will be invited to appraise the scores, and the top three applicants will be permanently recorded in the International Invention Hall of Fame. This award can only be received once in a lifetime.
4. Winners will receive a Hall of Fame medal and a winner’s certificate, serving as IIP’s highest honor.
◎ B. Lifetime Achievement Academic Award for Outstanding International Achievement
Application Criteria:
1. The applicant’s total score on the evaluation scale is 1,500 points or above, and they hold at least 10 domestic and/or international patents.
2. The applicant holds at least 20 domestic and/or international patents and has previously won an award from an international invention exhibition.
3. The applicant holds a special invention patent and is a company manager, CEO, or team leader involved in innovation and invention, etc. who has made significant economic and social contributions.
◎ C. International Biotechnology Innovation Seal of Excellence
Application Criteria:
1. Open to research units and academic units engaged in the fields of biotechnology and medicine, as well as manufacturing industry CEOs and leaders.
2. R&D personnel with research and patents related to biotechnology and medicine.
3. Outstanding manufacturers, representatives, and executives in the biotechnology and medical industry ( including agents and import/export businesses ) who have contributed to the advancement of human health.
◎ D-1. Pride of the Nation Invention Award for Outstanding International Achievement ( limited to applicants in invention and industrial fields )
Application Criteria:
1. The applicant’s total score on the evaluation scale is 500 points or above.
2. The applicant has previously been conferred the IIP title of “Learned Doctor”.
3. The applicant is an entrepreneur, CEO, industry leader, etc. who has made outstanding contributions.
◎ D-2. Pride of the Nation Academic Invention Award for Outstanding International Achievement ( limited to applicants in academia and R&D fields )
Application Criteria:
1. The applicant has served as an assistant professor ( or in a higher position ) for at least 3 years, holds at least five domestic and/or international patents, and their total score on the evaluation scale is 700 points or above.
2. The applicant is a scholar, R&D unit, academic R&D leader, etc. who has made outstanding contributions.
◎ E. International Academic Innovation Seal of Excellence
Application Criteria:
1. The applicant has published an internationally impactful academic thesis, monograph, or groundbreaking discovery related to the field of invention.
2. The applicant is an academic researcher or industrial R&D personnel of great prestige in their field of research or a related field, and their total score on the evaluation scale is 1,000 points or above.
3. The applicant is the prior recipient of an IIP award.
4. The applicant must provide documented proof of relevant achievements and pass the selection committee’s evaluation.
◎ F. International Innovation and Invention Elite Award
Application Criteria:
1. The applicant has at least one patented invention or has previously won an award in international invention exhibition.
2. The applicant must attach relevant supporting documents and pass the selection committee’s evaluation.
◎ G. Outstanding International Youth Inventor Award
Application Criteria:
1. The applicant has previously won an award in a notable international invention exhibition or an international science competition.
2. The applicant must attach relevant supporting documents and pass the selection committee’s evaluation.
◎ H. International Yearly Excellent Inventor Award
Application Criteria:
1. The applicant has previously won an award in a notable international invention exhibition, a national or international invention competition, or a science competition.
2. The applicant is the prior recipient of an IIP award.
3. The applicant must attach relevant supporting documents. Those who pass the selection committee’s evaluation will be awarded the Excellent Inventor trophy.
◎ I. American DAVINCI Global Innovation Technology Award
Application Criteria:
1. Open to prior award recipients of the AII American DAVINCI International Innovation and Invention Expo, and to prior recipients of the IIP award honor.
2. The applicant is a scholar with outstanding research results related to innovative technology, or an industrial R&D leader or manager with outstanding innovative ideas and achievements in R&D, products, operations, etc. The applicant must attach a resume and supporting documents and pass the evaluation conducted by Southern Utah University.
3. Relevant officials from Southern Utah University will come to Taiwan to present the award certificate.
◎ J. Global Business Leader Excellence Award
Application Criteria:
1. Open to applicants of all nationalities. The applicant serves as the chairperson of the board of directors or the CEO of a renowned multinational business conglomerate with international prestige. The applicant must have at least 5 years of experience leading their enterprise.
2. The applicant is in charge of a relevant internationally renowned NFO or foundation. The applicant must have at least 5 years of experience leading their enterprise.
3. The applicant must submit relevant supporting documents along with their application form ( i.e., documented proof of the key performances, contributions, and achievements of the enterprise or organization to the marketplace, society, their country, and the world ).
4. CIIS will invite impartial experts and scholars to make the selection. Winners will be awarded the Excellence trophy, the Grand Cordon of Golden Diamond, and an award certificate.
◎ K. International Innovation Award
Application Criteria:
1. International academic innovator: The applicant’s research is related to innovation and invention, and they have outstanding academic achievements.
2. Business innovator: The applicant is a business entity, manager, or CEO whose research, products, operations, etc. are related to business development; who has outstanding innovative ideas and achievements; and who has made significant contributions toward the advancement of Taiwanese society.
3. The applicant must attach a resume and supporting documents, such as academic research results and award certificates or business R&D results and award certificates, etc., and pass the selection committee’s evaluation.
Application Method
1. Fill out the registration form, attach copies of relevant identification documents and one 2” photo ( showing head and chest ), and send them to the Association. The Association will organize a selection committee of invited academic specialists such as college presidents, university professors, etc. to examine all applications. Successful applicants will be formally notified. ( Previous winners should not apply for the same award category. )
2. Successful applicants must provide an electronic file including their personal information and a summary of their specialized field. Those applying for the American DAVINCI Global Innovation Technology Award must also provide an English application.
3. Register using the relevant form. Please visit the Association’s official website to download the registration form. Domestic applicants, please submit your application by postal mail and use the postmark date as proof, and must be postmarked before the deadline. For international applicants, please submit your application materials via email before the deadline. Please calculate your score and email us to inquire about the registration fees for each award category in this event.

Award Ceremony
The award ceremony will be held on Thursday, 20 November 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the The ILLUME TAIPEI Hotel 2F Grand Ballroom A (Add:100, Dunhua N. Rd., Songshan Dist., Taipei 105020, Taiwan). Invited government officials and other distinguished guests will attend to personally present the International Invention Hall of Fame award and other honors. Esteemed guests from domestic and international fields of invention, academia, and industry are all invited to attend.
